IGREJA DOS TERCEIROS DE SÃO FRANCISCO
No interior da Igreja dos Terceiros destaca-se a planta retangular do Templo e ressaltam as belas pinturas nas paredes com motivos fitomórficos em “trompe l’oeil”. No coro alto, do lado do Evangelho, o órgão de tubos, recentemente restaurado, destaca-se em talha policromada com marmoreados a amarelo, verde e rosa e pontilhada a dourado. A nave é coberta por abóbada de pedra, decorada por caixotões sextavados e quadrangulares sobre entablamento, ritmado por mísulas. O interior da nave é iluminado por grandes janelões com moldura e sanefa de talha policromada com marmoreados e varandins em ferro. Na nave confrontam-se dois púlpitos e quatro capelas retabulares que prestam devoção a Nossa Senhora da Salvação e São Francisco do lado da Epístola, e do lado do Evangelho a Nossa Senhora dos Desamparados e Santo António. Na capela-mor destacam-se as paredes integralmente revestidas a azulejos figurativos, monocromos a azul, com cenas da vida de São Francisco e Santa Margarida de Cartona, do lado do Evangelho, e do oposto, de Santa Rosa.
Inside the Church of the Third Order, the highlight goes to the rectangular plan of the temple and the beautiful walls paintings with phytomorphic motifs in trompe l’œil. In the rood screen, on the Gospel side, the recently restored pipe organ stands out due to its gilded polychrome finish with yellow, green and pink marble elements and golden dots. The nave is covered by a stone vault, crafted with hexagonal and square coffers on the entablature with detailed corbels. The interior of the nave is illuminated by large windows with a gilded polychrome frame and pelmet, in addition to the marbled elements and narrow iron balconies. In the nave, two pulpits opposite each other and four chapels with retables devoted to Our Lady of Salvation and Saint Francis, on the Epistle side, and Our Lady of the Helpless and Santo António, on the Gospel side, can be seen. In the main chapel, the highlight goes to the walls completely lined with figurative tiles, with blue monochromes portraying the life of Saint Francis and Saint Margaret of Cortona, on the Gospel side, opposite to Saint Rosa.
